Team 7, who we exclusively offer to our UK clients as the only distributor of these pieces, have announced an incredible technique of staining their wood, which maintains the texture, surface feel, and the scent of the wood, as well as maintaining the open-pore quality of the solid wood they offer. The range is Mocha Oak, in which, over a period of two years, they undertook a pioneering research collaboration with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, to help create this incredible method which embeds colour into the solid wood furniture they create.

Now, if you are anything like us, your eyes may have just gotten a little wider, as this is an incredible amount of research to put into a piece of furniture. However, if you know Team 7 like we do, the environment as well as the longevity of the pieces they provide, are paramount to what they offer to their customers.

A little more about the Mocha Oak finish, and why we are so excited about this new offering.

With Mocha Oak, Team 7 have managed for the first time to change the colour of the wood, in a natural way. In order to achieve an even, dark colouring of this wood, they have developed an entirely new process, in which the solid wood retains its open pores, so repairs are still possible to the surface, whilst the positive features of the wood are retained. The wood is breathable, and regulates humidity; it also has an anti-bacterial and antistatic function, as well as being an easy-care surface. As you can see, this unique development means it will work in most areas of your home.
